Study on Scholarship

Research in the department focuses on methods and algorithms for digital communication systems. We study systems as the next generation of wireless cellular communications, communications between vehicles to allow important applications of road safety, fiber optic communications systems, communications equipment and limited. Our research is different in nature and includes basic project-oriented applications, and disciplinary and interdisciplinary. We are heavily involved in graduate communication engineering. The division employs about 30 people, a figure that will rise in the near future, as we have been successful in attracting research grants. Chalmers University of Technology is located in Gothenburg on the west coast of Sweden. It is among the top research schools in Europe. The environment of international research and candidates of all nationalities are welcome to apply.

Job description

The general research topic is about improving the user experience of future ubiquitous communication mobile cellular radio systems. The research was conducted as part of the research project “Advanced radio interface technologies for 4G systems (ARTIST4G)” http://www.chalmers.se/s2/EN/research/divisions/communication-systems/research-projects/advanced-radio-interface, in close collaboration with our project ARTIST4G Swedish and European partners. In addition, participation in our ongoing research projects on the future of mobile wireless systems, ITU, IMT-Advanced and beyond, is also provided The main objective of this research is to invent new techniques for systems using the cooperation of multi-cellular base station and relayin.

Required qualifications

You must have a very good knowledge of wireless communications and a recent Ph.D. degree in a related field of wireless communications, preferably with experience in multi-antenna distributed. Programming knowledge coordinated beamforming and the relay, joint multi-point transmission and reception, using the planning and design multi-layer is advantageous, and interest in information theory and Bayesian methods. In addition, interest in interdisciplinary work with scientists and engineers from other sectors is essential, as are technical skills in simulation and mathematical analysis. You should have a good command of spoken and written English and have good interpersonal skills. Teaching experience is an advantage.

Application

The application shall be written in English and include the following items:

1. An application of a maximum of one A4 page containing your specific qualifications for the position
